Chapter 2: 1st Age of Restoration

During the early days of the newly formed clan, ‘Sukul, times were hard. This, Age of Restoration, for their people would not come easy. Latosa wanted to build a new clan that was strong, honest, and full of honor. So, he looked to his newly formed council for ways to build up good relations with surrounding clans.

“We must find ways to build good relations and get ourselves known to other clans”, Latosa says. “Do any of you have suggestions on how we should proceed?”

Many of the elders of this new formed house were silent. Many of them were still becoming accustomed to their new roles within the clan.

“Kaidon, we do not have much to offer the other surrounding clans at this time”, one of the councilors added. “Agreed, and our crops are still in short supply here. Same goes for our warriors numbers”, another adds.

It has been over six months since ‘Sukul was formed. The land they called home did not produce the amount of crops they were hoping for, nor were there many males to train to become warriors for the clan, but there was something the clan could offer to the others.

There was a long silence within the room. Latosa was awaiting advice from his council, but they themselves were unsure of what actions to take to build good relations for ‘Sukul. “Kaidon, I have something we could share with the other clans”, a councilor says. Latosa looks at him, giving him a nod to speak. “Some members of our families, even you, have an eye for architecture. We could offer our services to the other clans to design and build homes, and keeps. Some of our designs have been marveled by others. This could bring us to good terms with surrounding clans.”

The council began to mutter amongst themselves. Many of them were against this idea. Handing their designs of their keeps, and homes would give the other clans information on their defenses. Allowing them to easily invade their home.

“You would have us divulge plans of our own home to the other clans, allowing them to have a strategic advantage against us?”, a councilor adds. “No! Of course not. The services I speak about in architecture are the aesthetic side of it.”

The council was silent after this suggestion. Each one looked to one another then to the Kaidon.

Latosa turned his attention to one his councilors, Jaku, who suggested this, saying. “You want us to share our views for aesthetics with other clans?” Latosa closes his eyes, bowing his head to think. He looks back to his council, “This idea… It resonates with me. We can sell architectural designs, aesthetics, to the other clans. This will help and allow us to build up wealth for the clan, and possibly put us in positions with large States as well.” Latosa stands from his seat, “Let’s begin.”

Clan ‘Sukul began building and designing structures for clans across Sanghelios and for other colonial worlds. They started small, building villages and temples for the surrounding families. Latosa also demanded from his people that they show kindness, and honor to every new clan they meet. With each new build clan ‘Sukul made, came new alliances, and friends.

Soon, almost all of Sanghelios knew of their clan. More families also wished to join under their name. Clan ‘Sukul began to grow rapidly. Gaining knew warriors, farmers, and architects. Soon they became a great house, known, and respected by many.

This Age of Restoration would go on for years. ‘Sukul would go from a single house, to an entire state.
