It started as a dare: could the Sukul State keep a lobby alive for a full day?
Hour One
The first hours were easy. The lobby was full, the voice chat was loud and the scoreboard was a blur. Players rotated in and out like a relay team.
Hour Twelve
By midnight, the lobby was running on energy drinks and stubbornness. Someone started counting respawns. At five hundred, the chat began to chant.
Hour Twenty-Four
When the final match ended, the counter read 1,047. Nobody remembers who won the last game. Everybody remembers that they were there.
"We did not win anything that night. We just refused to leave."
